In the spirit of this special occasion, we are thrilled to present our volunteer interview series, where we delve into the remarkable stories of just some of the inspiring individuals who have chosen to make a difference.
We have had the pleasure of interviewing a remarkable lineup of individuals, including the incredible Joe, Isabelle, Eloise, Arabella, Bailey, Ben and now it's Nick's turn to share why he loves to volunteer.
What motivated you to become a PMLSC Volunteer?
I have always been involved with lifesaving since 5 years old and when I moved back from overseas, wanted to reconnect with the local club in Port.
In your opinion, what makes volunteering such a valuable and rewarding experience, and how does it contribute to personal growth and development?
All Aspects of giving back to the community and supporting people grow is a great option in life-seeing people young and old walk away from a day at the beach safe is a gift and I enjoy seeing this after each patrol!
Can you share a specific moment or experience during your volunteer work that stands out to you and reinforces your love for volunteering and or the club?
Every nipper session on Sundays is a gift to see the excitement and enjoyment of kids from 5-13 years old enjoy a day at the beach-rain hail or shine-and their growth of confidence in the water!
What keeps you motivated to continue volunteering for PMLSC?
The future growth of the club and the members we grow to enjoy volunteering.
How has volunteering impacted your life, and what benefits have you experienced from it?
Sense of giving back to a society and environment that has given me incredible joy; sporting accomplishments in surf boat rowing and the enjoyment of meeting like minded people.
