National Volunteer Week is a time to honor and appreciate the invaluable contributions made by our Club's volunteers who selflessly dedicate their time, skills, and passion to make a positive impact on our community. In the spirit of this special occasion, we are thrilled to present our volunteer interview series, where we delve into the remarkable stories of just some of the inspiring individuals who have chosen to make a difference.
What motivated you to become a PMLSC Volunteer?
I did Nippers since I was 8 and enjoyed it very much. I also looked up to the lifesavers and wanted to keep moving forward after Nippers.
In your opinion, what makes volunteering such a valuable and rewarding experience, and how does it contribute to personal growth and development?
Knowing that you're taking time out of your day to contribute to the community makes you feel great knowing you're helping others as well as having fun.
What keeps you motivated to continue volunteering for PMLSC?
All of the opportunities you get from it as well as how many things I have learnt.
Can you share a specific moment or experience during your volunteer work that stands
out to you and reinforces your love for volunteering and or the club?
Thankfully I haven’t had to do any rescues in my time and being a lifesaver but it’s little things like the amount of hours put in and the skills you learn and opportunities you get that are great.
How has volunteering impacted your life, and what benefits have you experienced from it?
I have met so many new people as well as being taught so many new skills and getting to help the community.
